Scrum promises immense benefits to the way people collaborate and create products together. So how is it possible that a large number of teams and organizations struggle to manifest these benefits? Johannes Schartau decided to investigate this phenomenon. Together with Christiaan Verwijs and Barry Overeem (the Liberators), he uncovered that this lifeless version of Scrum, Zombie Scrum, manifests in distinct ways and due to specific circumstances.
